I thought it would be nice to trawl through the high street interiors shops to show you how you too can interpret my trend report for 2010 whatever your budget. There are some great items out there at the moment. Once you have decided on the style simply shop around.
Lighting
Lighting is so important in a room, i really like the organic shape of the Habitat Turin Wall Light . Looking for something more eclectic? Habitat Tommy Light Range looks fabulous as well as being functional. The Lathan Lamp by Zara Home is a touch of chic and I love the Langley Lamp, the mirroring to the base is really stylish and has a distinct Art Deco feel.
Bedrooms
Bed linen is an easy way to update your bedroom, from my own range with QVC the Kelly Hoppen 500TC Egyptian Cotton Lace Jacquard 6 piece Duvet Set is not only beautiful but has a great textural look, or for something more crisp the white Kelly Hoppen Vintage 600TC Egyptian Cotton 4 Piece Duvet Set will add luxury to your bed, warning, you may find it difficult to leave it!
Accessories
You can bring a new lease of life into your home very easily by updating your accessories, cushions are a great place to start. The big department stores have fantastic range, some that have caught my eye are the Grey Animal Fur Cushion from the Star by Julien Macdonald Collection, The Taffetta Flower Cushions in the Rocha.John Rocha collection have beautiful detailing. Using a combination of detailed statement cushions with plain or textured cushions can instantly lift a seating area.
Storage need not be boring, it’s easy to add an eclectic touch by using unusual storage, I love the idea of ornate framed storage shelves for your trinkets or more functional items.
Furniture
I love to entertain, and for me that involves cramming as many friends as I can around a beautiful dining table for a home cooked meal, your first priority should be a spectacular table, the walnut wood is beautiful and would work well with contrasting chairs for a Linear Shabby Chic look.
